REPERTOIRE 2009
Advanced players should aim to bring at least two major works at performance standard, as well as work in progress. All participants will play to both tutors.
Paul Roberts, on all three courses, will also take a French Repertoire Class. Advanced pianists should prepare a major work by Debussy or Ravel, in particular: Debussy Suite bergamasque; Preludes from Books I and II; Images Books I and II; L'isle joyeuse; Ravel Jeux d'eau; Miroirs; Gaspard de la nuit; Le Tombeau de Couperin.
Charles Owen (Course I) will also take a Bach Class, for which advanced students should prepare a Partita or a Prelude and Fugue from Book I.
The Intermediate Class will be taken by both tutors. Participants should bring any pieces with which they are comfortable, and consider the set work, which this year is one, or more, of Bach's Eighteen Little Preludes. We ask that possible repertoire is indicated on the application form, which helps us judge standards and so facilitate arrangements. Changes can be made at any time.
